Community Outreach
CAWEE is committed to our philanthropic mission of supporting our community even beyond our membership.
We are dedicated to helping not only our members, but also our larger community.
We do this by offering a bi-annual Charity of the Year, and a Scholarship to York University.
Charity of the Year
Every two years CAWEE selects one charity to support for the upcoming two years.
We give preference to charitable organizations that encompass the following criteria:
- Non-political and non-religious organizations.
- Is a fully registered charity under the Income Tax Act.
- Specializes in working with women and their families.
- Operates in the GTA.
- Is required to fundraise a substantial portion of their annual budget (20% and over).
- Is open to CAWEE’s volunteer participation above and beyond financial contributions.
Fundraising for the charity occurs throughout the year at all Special Events and some After Work Events.
Who is Northstar Startups?
MBA Scholarship
Every year CAWEE awards a scholarship to a female student of the York University’s MBA program at the Schulich School of Business who shows a strong interest in advancing the status of women in business.
Selection is based on a strict criteria and the winner is introduced and honoured at our Annual General Meeting and Networking event.
The CAWEE Scholarship is awarded to a female MBA student, who is enrolled in the second year of study, has presented academic excellence and demonstrates need for financial assistance. This award is presented for full-time study.
